Alpine Meadows

The Alpine Meadows ski area is under the same ownership umbrella of Squaw Valley USA but the ski resort remains a traditional Tahoe ski area. The community continues to have a very loyal following. Clients I have that own in Alpine Meadows all seem to have been initially introduced by friends that already own there. I have seen multiple families sell one property in Alpine just to purchase another around the corner. The terrain is world class, although slightly smaller than sister property Squaw Valley, but many loyalists argue the experience is better due to smaller crowds. Tahoe spring skiing is arguably at its best in Alpine Meadows. The real estate is on average 20 to even 30% less for a comparable property at the neighboring Squaw Valley. The River Ranch Lodge at the entrance to Alpine is a fantastic side benefit along with a few amenities for homeowners including tennis courts. My family has personally enjoyed the Alpine Meadows Stables. The local hiking is highlighted by the Five Lakes hike.
